BIG CROSS

“BACK TO THE SOUTH”

In the city of Jaén, at the top of the Cerro de Santa Catalina, next to the new Alcázar (Nuevo Castillo de Santa Catalina), stands a viewpoint with a very large cross. That’s where the idea of the name of this new Andalusian rock band from Jaén comes from: GRANDE CRUZ. Until today, no band from the green lands of this Andalusian province had dedicated themselves to creating, exploring and recording an album of Andalusian rock, this rock music with roots from both Andalusia and Spain.

José Cantero (drums) and Juan de Dios (guitar) contacted Loren Laguna (lead vocals and bass) and later completed the band with Juanjo Mohamed (keyboardist and synthesizers). In their live shows and in the recording of this album Antonio Expósito and Francisco Jesús Carretero collaborate with guitars.

GRANDE CRUZ arrive on the music scene trying, like other new emerging bands, to fan the flame of Andalusian rock to remember the greatness of the genre. Hence the name of the album “Regreso al sur”, back to the glorious era of rock in Andalusia.

The design of the cover and the Artwork is the responsibility of the artist “Chirrikensteín”. With his concept and his refined art and ingenuity he has achieved with an optimal result, to represent the monk carrying the large cross, or the GREAT CROSS, as they like.

5 Lunas Producciones supports the initiative by publishing this CD in Digi, ecological format and placing its music on all digital platforms.
